The next day, our heroes find themselves once again at the mercy of a Provost with his back up. The investigation into the fire that destroyed the entirety of the History department, and a third of Science has turned up a rather damning piece of evidence.

MCNEISH
And the assurance investigators found this, under the one working section of the Parmelee sprinklers.

PROF SAVANT
Parmelee sprinklers? I thought the college had inactivated those when they updated to the Grinnell sprinkler system.

MCNEISH
Well, yes. Unfortunately, the Grinnell system was not yet online, and most of the Parmelee had been removed. There was one section, however, that was still charged with water. It was not enough to stop the blaze, but it did manage to save this.

NARRATOR
