PROF SAVANT
That sounds like it will take a lot of time - there is nearly 4000
years of history you want to examine.

LUCI
With the processing power RALPH and I possess, we should be able to do it in about two weeks.

PROF SAVANT
Our bodies won't last that long. We are set to be recalled...

DR SAGE
It is all right, Erasmus. We can take as long as we need, remember?
When we are recalled to our bodies, we can take days, weeks even, and then rebound to the very moment we left. There is some concern for entanglement by continually reoccupying the same body but there
is no time to perform brain surgery on these two, so we shall just have
to soldier on.

LUCI
For your first rebound trip, leave 10 minutes in between your exit and
re-entry. I can have the Avac insert the markers.

DR SAGE
In ten minutes?! You can open the brain pan and do brain surgery in
ten minutes?! How? What instruments? Is there a sterile operating room here? I have questions.

LUCI
And I shall answer them more technically later, but for now, suffice it to say that laser technology gets developed in the early 22nd century that ends the need for many types of surgery. I can install a temporary marker by stimulating the brain hormones to create a deposit in just the right spot. Works far better than a metal ring with less risk to the patient.
